It's clear to me that there are a few schools of design thought in preparation for Monaco,
1. Merc and McLaren, much more aggressive within the regulations. Replaced the actuator pod entirely with wings fitting within the regulation volume for the actuator. Much more https://t.co/6pr5dPXF8Z
McLaren with their own iteration of an "actuator pod" in Monaco as well.
Really great point by Scarbs here as well. The staged approach to generating the upwash, is really similar to what I posted in my previous post. Flow fields influence surrounding flow fields. So upstream influences helps to shape the flow for downstream devices. This stagedThe winglet stack above the Merc rear wing, visibly shows how the rear wing turns the airflow over the car from horizontal to near vertical behind the wing! #F1#F1tech #MonacoGPhttps://t.co/EXIAtJcsnN
Downforce is the name of the game in Monaco. But that's just the simple interpretation of this..
Flow fields impact surrounding flow fields. And anything that you can do to create upwash in an area impacts the surrounding areas as well. So this can also help to drive the rearHi guys,
A good article talking about the Tyre wake using a 2026 car model. And the use of vortices to help influence the shape and size of the wake.??????????????????
