A step in the right direction…The FIA has confirmed changes specifically for qualifying at Suzuka this weekend, in order to better balance driver challenge vs energy harvesting.

Clear and definitive explanation of exactly what Max Verstappen has been saying. It isn’t racing if the driver is somehow minimized by the regulations. It feels so artificial to race this way. I applaud the race for being so outspoken about this. ????????A very, very insightful video from The Race explaining some of the deployment quirks experienced by Charles in China during sprint qualifying. Some info was gathered from official team members, which has made this a lot more digestible than trying to understand odd descriptions

It was clear to me that this was a designed intent from the motion seen. The advantages being that the extended Time to closure not only allows you to continue to shed a bit more drag, but you can bias the aero balance rearward for rear axle energy harvesting. This helps keep theLo strano comportamento dell'ala anteriore sulla Mercedes W17 in Cina ? stato subito notato dagli avversari. La Ferrari ha chiesto gi? domenica sera un chiarimento alla FIA. RT @jameypricephoto: ???? F1’s battery management racing is NOT the same thing as endurance racing / sportscar racing.

Because Switzerland is so ugly compared to the UK, and such an unattractive place to live? Frankly I never quite understood this point. Switzerland is the most beautiful amazing country I have visited. Swiss taxes vs UK taxes…no contest. What am I missing?

I guessThe other thing Wheatley's departure shows once more is the problem that Sauber had from its early sportscar days - attracting top British talent to live and work in Switzerland when there are so many opportunities closer to home. People rarely stay long...

Just listen to that hybrid regen...oh wait...this is what a race car is supposed to sound like. ????????

Some of my most favorite races to attend while living in the UK was the British GT series races. The raw guttural roar of the engines was music to my ears.

My favorite was theMore footage of Max Verstappen driving his Mercedes GT3 car today.

This would shift the aero balance rearward. And since the regen is on the rear axle this is where you need the load to max regen without losing rear end stability. So it would likely be a purposeful aero migration rearward, then more centrally after the front wing closes and they@dr_obbs The rear wing seems to close normally like within the usual time limit, could this not affect the centre of pressure given the front wing is still open or is the timing so minuscule from when the rear closes to the front that it doesn't make any difference?

Very interesting observation. I don’t think the regs are ambiguous at all on this. 400ms is the regulation for closing time.

However, the aero load could be different depending on the corner entry speed at the point of movement. With greater load pushing against the front wingWhy is the Mercedes front wing variable?

I noticed this all last weekend.
The Merc front wing was closing at different speeds depending on the corner, and that at it's slowest, it was closing in about 800ms, twice what the rules allow.
