Шумахер пак във Формула 1, но с Мерцедес!

След като преди няколко месеца Михаел Шумахер за малко не се завърна като пилот на Ферари за да замести контузеният Фелипе Маса, сега вече ще може да го направи, но като пилот на Мерцедес GP.

На специална пресконференция днес от Мерцедес обявиха вторият си пилот във Формула 1 - Михаел Шумахер. Малко е странно да наричаме Шумахер втори пилот, но той ще кара с номер 4. Сделката е за три години (според autosport) само за една година и на стойност 7 милиона евро според това което знаем до момента. Така след три години извън болид от Формула 1 Михаел Шумхер се завръща със сребърните стрели.

Според лекаря на Шумахер, той е в прекрасна форма. Остава обаче да видим какво ще кажат лекарите на FIA. Очакваме разбира се и теста (един ден) който официално може да направи Шумахер според новите правила.

Михаел Шумахер е карал за Мерцедес през 1990-1991, но не във Формула 1, а във WSC (World Sports Cars). През 1990 той побеждава на пистата Нюрбургринг, а през 1991 на Аутополис. Когато Мерцедес се завърнаха във Формула 1 с двигател в болидите на Заубер, имаше опити да бъде привлечен Шумахер, който по това време караше за Бенетон, но това така и не се случи. След това дойдоха годините във Ферари които всички ние помним. Сега обаче Мерцедес вече си имат собствен отбор, подкрепата на Петронас и ... Михаел Шумахер като пилот.

Битката на пистата се очертава да бъде доста интересна. Алонсо вече е побеждавал Шумахер, но Хамилтън отдавна е заявил желанието си да кара срещу него. Младата немска надежда Фетел често наричан baby Schumi вероятно иска да се отърве от лепнатия му прякор. Разбира се не трябва да се забравя и новия световен шампион Бътън, както и бившия съотборник на Михаел - Фелипе Маса, който се възстанови успешно от контузията си. Очаква ни един интересен сезон 2010!

In April 1991, when I had been in charge of the Mercedes-Benz Motorsport programme for just six months, Michael was standing beside me on the balcony one evening. Without the slightest doubt, he said in a low voice: “It’s about time that I got into Formula 1”. Michael had just turned 22 years of age and four months later, he made his debut at Spa in a Jordan. Mercedes-Benz helped him to this point and the rest is history: seven World Championship titles, more than any racing driver, 91 Grand Prix wins, more than any racing driver. Michael has more of everything than every other driver. As part of the Mercedes Junior Programme, Michael had raced in Group C sports cars and competed in a few DTM races. Ross Brawn, then our opponent at Jaguar, quickly realised Michael’s talent and they went on to win all seven of his Drivers’ World Championship titles together at Benetton and Ferrari. Our sporting ambition has always been that Michael should drive again where his professional career had started and Michael knew that. We often joked about it after the races and discussed the prospect seriously several times during the last 14 years in Formula 1. It didn’t happen in 1995, it didn’t happen in 1998 and it didn’t happen in 2005. I am delighted that it will now happen in 2010. I am very much looking forward to working with Michael and everybody at Mercedes-Benz and Daimler extends a very warm welcome to our ‘apprentice’ of 19 years ago. That apprentice is now the most successful racing driver of all time.
